End Of June 2010

WOW!! What a month we had out of Seward this past June!!

Once the weather let us get out and chase big Halibut, we closed the deal and even won some derby fish days. The City of Seward has a Halibut derby every year the cost is $10 per person, first place is $10k second place is $5k and third place is $2500. Just as good, the biggest fish of the day wins a free charter for the next year, and yes the Seward Fish Company has been hanging some daily winners. Your average size Halibut in Alaska is 25lbs and any Halibut over 50lbs is a trophy. In June we run lots of Hog Halibut fishing trips, this is where we spend 3/4 of the day sitting in one spot and waiting for a big fish, some days are great and we get one big fish other days are even better and we get two or three, those days don’t happen every day, but they do happen. We produced may trophy Halibut this past June and we hope to keep it up. July is here and now our Skipper Full Combos start, this is where we chase Halibut, Lingcod, Salmon and Rockfish all in the same day, this is our most popular trip and can put a great verity in your freezer.
